An Insight to Rehearsals

“And by something beautiful I don’t just mean an exhibition of passion and talent, but also the friendships that form out of silly selfies and weary bodies and brains.”

We’ve had our first and second rehearsals with our Victorian Dance Festival team. Here are some thoughts about what’s it was like at our first rehearsal from artist Molly Faulkner:

“Since the first moment we could boogie, dance has brought people together. Whether it’s a waltz or the twist, dance is a point of connection, breaking down barriers and leaving raw, human emotion in its wake. This integration was the initial thing to strike me during my first Spark rehearsal- we were a completely separate group of people with the one common love of creating, and this love drove us together

So here we go. Step by step, working together to create something crazy, to build something beautiful. And by something beautiful I don’t just mean an exhibition of passion and talent, but also the friendships that form out of silly selfies and weary bodies and brains. The bonds sealed in glitter and hairspray. I feel truly honoured to play a part in this small family who want to dance like everyone’s watching. I hope you’re as excited as we are to see what we come up with.”
